I had a sleep mask similar to this one and I loved it but the "silky" (probably more like polyester spandex??) fabric that covered the foam was coming away and that was not awesome and the elastic had worn out so I tied a knot to keep it in place and then there was a lump behind my head... TIME FOR A NEW MASK.
I wanted something similar. This was just like the old faithful mask but BETTER. It has more light blocking from the part the covers the bridge of the nose. I bought two... One for me and one for my husband (he loves it too). This design for the sleep mask is superior for the following reasons:
1) It's totally opaque
2) the foam base inside the smooth fabric lining makes pockets so the mask doesn't actually touch your eyelids or smash your eyelashes or absorb your eye cream or whatever. Very nice and very important.
3) As I already mentioned it has some coverage on the bridge of the nose for more light blocking.
4) Comes with a storage bag - which I do not use because this is on my face every night so I just put it on the nightstand.
5) Comes with a set of ear plugs - your standard squishy foam plugs which I do not use because I am a deep sleeper and not bothered by regular night noises.
